Event Summary

This half day workshop will address common fears and present participants with the skills needed to network effectively and confidently. Taking a look into the importance of networking and the different types of networking commonly used. Through practice and demonstration, delegates will cover the key areas of: Approaching strangers, Creating and employing the elevator pitch, Choosing who to approach and when to do so and cementing the relationship. 

About Rachel Faye

Rachel Fay is an independant networking facilitator who's work has been widely featured in the media, including the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, The Times and Australian TV Channel Nine. She has been dubbed 'the Mingling Lady' by Vanessa Feltz on her BBC Radio London show.

Rachel 'works the room' at events held by confernce and exhibition organisers, venue promoters, chambers of commerce and trade organisations. She ensures that attendees network effectively, which means that they meet the people who are relevant to their busines objectives.

After a career in the marketing industry and frustrated by wasted hours attending events and leaving without the contacts she wanted, Rachel set about learning and developing skills that actually work when you need to network.

Objectives:

The workshop will focus on how to:

  • Overcome fear of approaching and coversing with a stranger
  • Initiate a conversation
  • Remember names
  • Create and use an 'elevator pitch'
  • Choose who to approach
  • Approach a stranger
  • Time an approach so as not to cause offence
  • Open a conversation
  • Exit a conversations
  • Follow-up and cement the relationship

By the end of the half-day session, delegates will have learnt the key skills outlied in the ojbectives. They will put them into practice during the workshop and receive feedback throughout by fellow delegates and the trainer.
